Aptera has entered the validation phase for the aerodynamic shape of its vehicles at Pininfarina’s wind tunnel. This collaboration with Pininfarina, known for its expertise in aerodynamics and iconic vehicle designs, aims to validate Aptera’s unique teardrop-shaped vehicles. Aptera’s aerodynamic design plays a crucial role in achieving exceptional energy efficiency, allowing their solar electric vehicles to have an industry-leading range of up to 1,000 miles per charge and the ability to drive up to 40 miles per day using solar power alone.

During the validation phase, Aptera will refine and validate the aerodynamic properties of its vehicle platform, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency. The correlation testing conducted at the Pininfarina Wind Tunnel has confirmed the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) work and provided insights into the vehicle’s shape, which Aptera expects to have the lowest coefficient of drag among all production passenger vehicles.
