Kia has announced an increase in the rebate for the 2024 EV9, which has gone up from $5,000 to $7,500, marking the largest discount offered on the electric vehicle model thus far, according to CarsDirect. Dealers received a bulletin from Kia today, which stated that the new rebate for the 2024 EV9 will be available until April 30. This rebate is categorized as Customer Cash, meaning it cannot be used in conjunction with other promotions such as Kia’s 0% financing deal, although the rebate offers more savings than the financing deal. The purchase discount for the EV9 has been aligned with the $7,500 lease cash offer already available.

Kia is gearing up to start production of the first three-row electric SUV in the US by May. The company anticipates that the EV9 will be eligible for the full $7,500 Inflation Reduction Act EV tax credit by early 2025.

The EV9’s popularity is soaring. Eric Watson, Kia America’s vice president of sales operations, remarked, “The surge in SUV sales and the initial success of the all-new, all-electric three-row EV9 have contributed to Kia achieving its second-best first-quarter sales result.”

The starting price for the Kia EV9 is set at $54,900, not including destination fees. With the April EV9 rebate of $7,500, the base price effectively drops to $47,400, and this is before any negotiations with dealers begin.

CarsDirect also noted that Kia’s $1,000 loyalty discount for the EV9 remains available, offering additional savings for current Kia owners or those with a Kia in their household.
